iQ-Lab: Camera Performance for Automotive Systems
Our camPAS tests provide objective test results and evaluations

A camPAS (Camera Performance for Automotive Systems) test offers independent and objective test results to camera and sensor manufacturers and component suppliers, conducted by a neutral and trusted third-party organization (Image Engineering).
The primary difference between a camPAS test and a standard test method lies in the ability to customize the camPAS test entirely according to the client's specifications. We evaluate camera systems using various image quality KPIs, such as those outlined in the IEEE-P2020 standard, or utilize tests to analyze the smoothness or error susceptibility of the sensor.
Contact the iQ-Lab to set up a camPAS test using your development specifications.
In-Cabin Test Solutions
Find the right test solution for in-cabin image quality testing

In-cabin systems monitor drivers' and passengers' behavior and facial cues by capturing videos and images. They primarily utilize near-infrared (NIR) sensors, combined with active illumination (e.g., LED or VCSEL), to ensure accuracy in very low-light conditions. NIR sensors are preferred because they do not require a visible light source that would be noticeable to the driver and passengers.
Testing these systems requires equipment capable of evaluating camera performance in the near-infrared (NIR) region. We offer a variety of VIS-IR light sources, including the LE7 VIS-IR lightbox, that can simulate the illumination levels required by in-cabin systems.
Meet us at AutoSens in Barcelona this coming October to discuss in-cabin testing solutions with our engineers.
Increase your Bright Light Test Capabilities
Arcturus is a DC light source with extremely high intensity and consistency

Arcturus can simulate the intensity of bright sunlight illumination with very high stability compared to other light sources. This ability allows camera systems to be evaluated in a test lab closer to sensor saturation.
The main benefits of Arcturus include:
- Maximum illuminance of up to 1 Mcd/m²
- Flicker-free (DC-driven LED)
- Extremely high stability and consistency
- Create real HDR scenes when combining with other Vega devices
- Change intensity over a vast dynamic range with constant spectrum
- Control via UI software, API, and Python scripts for Windows and Linux
Arcturus is an excellent solution for testing many of the metrics outlined in the IEEE-P2020 standard, including contrast transfer accuracy (CTA) and flicker (MMP).
IEEE-P2020 KPI Test Solutions
A look at the KPIs from the standard and solutions from IE

IEEE-P2020 is the first internationally recognized image quality performance standard for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). It defines metrics and test methods to evaluate the performance of these ADAS applications accurately.
Metrics include:
- Contrast Transfer Accuracy (CTA)
- Contrast Signal-to-Noise Ratio (CSNR)
- Flicker (MMP)
- Dynamic Range (CNR-based)
- Spatial Frequency Response (SFR)
- Geometric Calibration
- Noise
- Flare
We have test equipment designed specifically for each of the KPIs based on the test methods described in the standard.
Join us at AutoSens Europe
October 7-9, 2025 - Barcelona

We are excited to return to Barcelona for AutoSens Europe in just over a month. As always, we look forward to seeing all the innovation and participating in the latest conversations about autonomous driving.
We will showcase a series of advanced image quality testing equipment, including Arcturus, our test lab's light source, which features extremely high intensity and consistency. We will also present GEOCAL, a compact solution for geometric camera calibrations.
Looking forward to seeing you all in a month!
