IEEE-P2020 establishes an internationally recognized standard for automotive and ADAS applications. This standard addresses the fundamental KPIs contributing to automotive camera systems' image quality. Unlike most camera industries, automotive and ADAS applications are unique because they directly involve consumer safety. As a result, an international standard was needed to define metrics and test methods that manufacturers can use to ensure their products meet the highest performance standards and consumer safety.
During the development of the standard, it became clear that new metrics would need to be established to account for the unique environments in which autonomous driving systems are required to operate. Direct sunlight, dense fog, low light, flickering lights, and heavy pedestrian traffic are just a few of the environments where ADAS systems operate. The new KPIs to address these testing challenges include contrast transfer accuracy (CTA), modulated light mitigation probability (MMP - flicker), contrast signal-to-noise ratio (CSNR), and high dynamic range (HDR), among others.
These KPIs required new test methods and devices. We have designed many of our newer camera test equipment based on the test procedures outlined in the standard and offer a product bundle for those looking to get started with IEEE-P2020 measurements today. These products are utilized in our iQ-Lab when we perform P2020 measurements.
Important note: This bundle contains one Vega device, one controller, and one test chart. Additional Vega devices and charts can be purchased separately (one controller can control up to seven Vega devices).

Included products:

Vega
High-intensity light source
A high-intensity light source built on DC (direct current) technology. Cameras with very short exposure times (e.g., ADAS applications) often experience stability problems due to inadequate testing devices. Vega has extremely high stability, providing a previously unattainable consistency for measuring these types of cameras. This device is ideal for measuring CTA, MMP, CSNR, and HDR.

Vega Test Chart (TE294)
Grayscale test chart
TE294 is a unique grayscale test chart for high-precision measurements, such as those used to evaluate the performance of automotive camera systems. It is a transmissive gray step chart with 36 patches and a 10:1 contrast. The chart magnetically attaches to the front of the Vega light source.

VLS Software
Evaluation Software
The VLS (Versatile Light System) Software includes the VLS-Control Software and the VLS-Evaluation Software in one package. The latest version supports CTA, MMP, and CSNR measurements and evaluations. VLS, or Versatile Light System, is our flexible solution that combines multiple Vega light sources to create a more dynamic test scene.

Vega API
Flexible workflows
Flexibility is crucial when designing a new test or test lab. Our product APIs allow for complete flexibility when incorporated into your workflow. The Vega is built on C++, and we offer C interfaces and Python sample scripts for the Vega API.
