The AEON Camera Calibrator (ACC) is a modular optical system designed to test machine vision cameras based directly on the measurement parameters outlined in the EMVA (European Machine Vision Association)1288 standard.
The ACC is available in two sizes, one designed for standard sensors and another capable of handling sensors with diagonals up to 80 mm. Both configurations are modular, turnkey systems featuring adjustable LED light sources and comprehensive evaluation software powered by AEON's advanced heurisko® image processing platform*.
The measurement process is fully automated once the configuration is set up. Upon completion, a datasheet can be generated automatically. The system also supports batch processing and seamless integration with other software environments.
The ACC can conduct all measurements specified in EMVA 1288 (version 4.0), including linearity, noise, sensitivity, spatial inhomogeneities, and dark current.
Supported camera interfaces include:
- GigE Vision and USB3 Vision
- All cameras of Imaging Development Systems (IDS) via IDS’ peak
- All cameras of Basler via Basler’s pylon
- Camera Link, Camera Link HS, CoXPress
- and GigE Vision via Basler's frame grabbers
- Camera Link via Teledyne Dalsa’s Sapera LT
- CoaXPress via Euresys’ Coaxlink
- Cameras of PCO
We also offer customization to meet specific requirements wherever possible. For example, an ACC4 can be modified and mounted to the iQ-Climate Chamber.
We recently entered into a strategic cooperation with AEON. Check out the details here.
Please contact our sales department to get started with the ACC.
* A heurisko® developer license is included in the system.

The ACC can conduct all of the measurements specified in EMVA 1288 (version 4.0), including:
Linearity, Noise, and Sensitivity
These measurements are performed with monochromatic green light for monochrome cameras and blue, red, and green light for color cameras.
Spatial Inhomogeneities
Analyze spatial inhomogeneities of dark images and sensor sensitivity. The mean and the variance of each individual pixel are computed by averaging up to 1000 images.
Dark Current
Determine the dark current by capturing multiple images at different exposure times without illumination.
Test results
From these measurements, the following results can be derived:
- Absolute gain factor K in electrons per digits
- Absolute sensitivity threshold and saturation capacity
- Maximal signal-to-noise ratio
- Dark noise
- Dynamic range
- Non-Linearity
- Spatial inhomogeneity of the dark image (dark signal non-uniformity, DSNU) and of the sensitivity (photo response non-uniformity, PRNU)
- Quantum efficiency at the wavelengths of the ACC light source
Test results are available in PDF or CSV format. Images of the DSNU and PRNU are provided in PNG format. All essential intermediate results are stored for repeated evaluation.
