Image Engineering and AEON begin a new strategic cooperation

AEON and Image Engineering are pleased to announce a new strategic cooperation between the companies beginning in quarter three, 2024. AEON’s EMVA 1288 test solution is one of the few commercially available solutions for machine vision camera testing according to the EMVA 1288 standard. The standard will also be soon turned into an ISO standard. Currently, AEON does not have the capacity for worldwide marketing and sales and has thus begun pursuing a partner to assist. Image Engineering will support AEON with selling and marketing AEON’s solutions worldwide once AEON has trained Image Engineering in the functionality and operation of its standard test solutions and software. The two partners have also agreed that Image Engineering will gradually take over the hardware production and develop new hardware solutions to replace older devices and enable new capabilities for future systems. The AEON Team will continue to focus on their software solutions and test services.
AEON’s CEO Reinhold Gleisinger says: “The AEON Imaging team, headed by CTO Dr. Helmut Herrmann and supported by scientific advisor and chair of the EMVA 1288 working group, Prof. Dr. Bernd Jähne, is looking forward to concentrating on their core competence, which is the development of the EMVA 1288 test procedure and the related software for automated testing and test services. AEON will continue the support, maintenance, and calibration services for all its ACC test systems.”
Image Engineering’s CTO Uwe Artmann expresses that “while Image Engineering had always aspired to develop its own solution, the company lacked the necessary resources on the software side to support all the different camera interfaces. Therefore, this strategic cooperation with AEON is a perfect match, offering a mutually beneficial solution that could propel EMVA 1288 a significant step forward.”
