VCX-WebCam 2023
A new international standard from VCX-Forum
For the last two years, the VCX-Forum has been working on developing a reliable, objective, and comprehensive benchmark for webcam image quality. A few weeks ago, VCX-WebCam 2023 was officially launched. This international standard is one of the first to focus on webcam image quality. It can evaluate the video image quality for integrated and peripheral consumer-grade video conferencing cameras.
CDP testing
Performing CDP tests in our Image Quality Test Lab
The IEEE-P2020 working group is developing a series of metrics that will be outlined in the upcoming release of the first internationally recognized standard for automotive image quality. One of the metrics the group is establishing is contrast detection probability (CDP). Currently, the group is conducting multiple validation tests using the CDP guidelines from the standard. The Image Quality Test Lab at Image Engineering is one of the labs administering these tests.

iQ-Climate Chamber
A temperature-controlled testing device for camera performance testing
iQ-Climate Chamber can generate various temperature ranges for camera performance testing. It is currently the only device on the market for testing a camera system in a temperature-controlled environment.
The device has a test range of -30° to 120° C giving you the ability to create almost any temperature scenario within the confines of your test lab and making it essential when evaluating the performance of a security or automotive camera system.

Upcoming conference schedule
In early 2023, we will be attending two of our most important conferences of the year. The Electronic Imaging conference will take place from January 15-19, 2023, and Photonics West will follow shortly after from January 28 – February 2, 2023.
