Introducing iQ-LED - Basic

‍‍‍‍‍iQ-LED light sources at a reduced cost

iQ-Flatlights

We are excited to announce further illumination possibilities through the iQ-LED product line. Our latest iQ-LED - Basic products offer the same light sources and illumination possibilities at a significantly reduced cost.

These basic setups are delivered without a spectrometer (A spectrometer can be purchased later if desired) and instead are delivered with preconfigured illuminants. These illuminants can be individually requested (up to 40) to be programmed into your device before delivery.

Removing the spectrometer significantly reduces the cost of the products and is an excellent option for new or smaller test labs looking to upgrade their image quality testing.

All of our iQ-LED products are eligible for a basic setup.

VLS 1.2 – Temporal Recording

‍‍‍‍‍Introducing temporal recording features to VLS

VLS-Evaluation

We are pleased to announce an update to the VLS (Versatile Light System) evaluation software. Version 1.2 introduces a temporal recording function, allowing you to capture one image per luminance step. The test results can be used to evaluate your camera system's CTA (contrast transfer accuracy), CSNR (contrast signal-to-noise ratio), and dynamic range performance.

The main benefit of temporal recording measurements is avoiding issues with flare that often occur during camera alignment to a light source, leading to more accurate test results. The VLS now supports both spatial and temporal recording measurements as outlined in the IEEE-P2020 standard.

EMVA 1288 test solution

‍‍‍‍‍IE and AEON strategic cooperation

AEON partnership

We recently entered into a strategic cooperation with AEON to support the worldwide marketing and sales of their EMVA (European Machine Vision Association) 1288 testing solution. This solution follows the testing guidelines of the EMVA 1288 standard and is one of the only commercially available tools for machine vision camera testing according to the standard.

EMVA 1288 will soon be adapted to a new ISO standard (ISO 24942). Dietmar Wüller was recently appointed convenor of the ISO/TC 42/WG 28, a newly established working group under TC42 focusing on electronic imaging standards related to machine vision applications.

‍iQ-Lab: Automotive Camera Testing

‍‍‍‍Using the camPAS and IEEE-P2020 test methods

iQ-Lab

Our iQ-Lab is at the forefront of automotive image quality testing. As part of the IEEE-P2020 working group, our lab engineers have assisted in developing the P2020 standard, which defines test metrics for automotive image quality performance. These metrics include contrast transfer accuracy (CTA), modulated light mitigation probability (MMP), and contrast signal-to-noise ratio (CSNR), among others. We can test automated driver assistance systems (ADAS), driving monitoring systems, and other in-cabin applications.

The iQ-Lab uses advanced testing equipment, such as the Versatile Light System, to test the metrics according to P2020. Our lab has also developed the camPAS (Camera Performance for Automotive Systems) test to provide independent and objective test results to camera and sensor manufacturers and component suppliers as a neutral third party.

Contact the iQ-Lab to set up a camPAS test using your development specifications.

iQ-Lab: Advanced image quality testing

‍‍‍‍‍Unique and specialized test services from the iQ-Lab

GEOCAL

In addition to our wide variety of standard image quality factor tests, the iQ-Lab recognizes that certain companies and industries will also have unique testing requirements. As a result, we often work closely with our customers to determine their exact specifications and create a camera performance test accordingly. Over time, many companies began requesting the same or similar tests, and it became clear to us that it would be beneficial to offer a few of our most asked-for specialized camera tests as standard tests for our iQ-Lab.

Tests we regularly perform include luminance and geometric calibrations, baseline evaluation, and conception and proof of concepts. Additionally, we offer temperature-controlled and even underwater testing.

Test chart spotlight – Grayscale

A look at the latest chart in our grayscale line

TE297

TE297 is our latest grayscale test chart for dynamic range and OECF measurements. This chart is ideal for testing cameras with wide dynamic range, e.g., security cameras following IEC 62676-5. It is similar to the TE269C grayscale chart in that it orders the 36 patches (numbered from light to dark) in a circular shape to minimize shading/vignetting errors. TE297 reorders the gray patches to optimize testing for high-end camera systems with wide dynamic range requirements.
