Abstract

Image stabilization in digital imaging continuously gains in importance. This fact is responsible for the increasing interest in the benefits of the stabilizing systems. The existing standards provide neither binding procedures nor recommendations for the evaluation. This paper describes the development and implementation of a test setup and a test procedure for qualitative analysis of image stabilizing systems under reproducible, realistic conditions.

The basis for these conditions is provided by the studies of physiological properties of human handshake and the functionality of modern stabilizing systems.
